LINCOLN, Ga. (WRDW) - The body of the missing jet skier, Christopher Harper, has been found, according to the Department of Natural Resources.

Harper was found around 7:40 a.m. by Corps of Engineers employees, DNR said.

The body was recovered about 100 yards off the beach at West Dam Lake.

LINCOLN, Ga. (WRDW) - Thursday is the last day DNR crews will actively search for missing jet skier, Christopher Harper.

That means after Thursday, crews will check in the morning and evening until Harper surfaces.

Crews will search the water by boat Thursday.

Harper went missing more than a week ago after falling off his jet ski and never resurfacing.

2 boats are out on Clarks Hill Lake searching today. Today's search will go until late this evening.

LINCOLN, Ga. (WRDW) - Day 8 in the search for Christopher Harper has begun.

DNR got back to the lake just after 7am Tuesday. They are walking along the shore line and bridges.

Crews will get back in the water at 9am at Mistletoe State Park.

Today they will be able do an underwater search again. They were not able to do that during the holiday weekend.

Captain Mark Padgett with DNR says how the crew searches for a missing person depends on a number of factors, like the location and witnesses.

He adds there is no maximum or average days on when they stop searching for a body.

Padgett says in the case of Harper if they haven't found anything in a few days they will reconvene and assess what needs to be done from there. That might mean continuing the search with less people or stopping the search.

LINCOLN, Ga. (WRDW)- It's day six of the search. DNR crews have been looking for Christopher Harper since witnesses say he fell off his jet ski Monday.

"Right now we are still checking the area constantly, we have patrol boats going through and keeping a watch out around that area, " Bobby Timmerman said.

Bobby Timmerman with DNR said it's not unlikely to have accidents on the water this time of year. But this Memorial Day weekend one family is missing a loved one.
