Harley Davidson new Bikes
FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Motorcycle enthusiasts took to the open road Wednesday (Sept. 24) experiencing first-hand the thrill of riding one of Harley-Davidson’s new bikes.
“It’s a sense of freedom, ” said Susie Tidrow, a biker from Missouri. “If you don’t ride, you just don’t understand.”
Harley-Davidson offered demo rides at Baum Stadium Wednesday.
Tidrow, one of many bikers in town for Bikes Blues & BBQ, test rode the brand new freewheeler. It’s the newest addition to the company’s three-wheeled trike line-up.
“It’s sleek and just has it going on, ” Tidrow said. “It was like wicked!”
Demos are a popular way for people to test ride bikes from the current model year line-up.
“It’s an opportunity to get people on our new bikes, and get them to experience all of the new features and enhancements that we’ve made to the bikes, ” said Chris Kutsch, events program manager for Harley-Davidson.
The demo ride is not just a quick lap around the block. It takes riders on a five mile path. And unlike other companies, Harley-Davidson allows riders to go out on their own.
“It really gives our customers the chance to go out and experience the bikes on their own, ” Kutsch said. “They get to just enjoy the motorcycle without having to worry about riders in front of them or behind them.”
There are a few requirements for the demo ride. Riders are required to have a valid motorcycle operators license and be at least 18 years of age.
“People have to have a valid motorcycle license, ” Kutsch said. “They have to be 18 years of age. They have to wear long pants, closed toed shoes, a helmet and eye protection.”
